Dan Cupid Poem Antique Valentine's Day Postcard
This Golden Age postcard is dated 1902 - 1910.
Colorfully embossed, Art Deco, wedding bells, hearts and flowers postcard. This card has some serious intent with the gold wedding bell, the mention of 'tie a knot' and 'say the right word'.
Written in pen, on the address side of the back, is the name Edith Jennings.
Unposted card made in the USA
5 1/2" h x 3 1/2" wThe condition of the card , with very light yellowing fromage, is very, very good for 110 - 120 years old, without tears, marks, wear, or defacement.
Are you intrigued that the name of the giver is absent? Who is Edith? What happened to her, and to the giver? Where did the friendship, or romance, take place? Were they married? This postcard would be beautiful in an ornate art deco frame - long, clean lines, geometric accents, arches and blocks - as a romantic wall hanging or dresser top picture.
