There is a very tiny chip on the right side brim of the hat on the hunter sitting on the lid and on the hat of the hunter on the side of the mug. Neither of these signs of age and use affects the beauty, charm or use of the stein. 
The ceramic has been very well cared for. and will provide many more years of joy for a stein or ceramic collector, or anyone who enjoys woodland folk art or barware to outsize other mugs.
